Whats In My Make Up Bag

My Make Up Bag

Recently I went to Ulta and invested in some new make up.  I did this because I used old make up, and my face basically revolted against me.  After speaking to the lovely lady who helped me color match my skin and suggested some items to help my skin, I left the store with a bag full of goodies.   This is what I use on a day to day basis to look B-E-A-UTIFUL.
1. REAL TECHNIQUES SPONGE – This sponge is amazing.  I haven’t tried the beauty blender yet. However cost wise, this was the cheaper option.  It is able to be used wet or dry and I found I used less foundation when I used the sponge versus a brush.
2. URBAN DECAY NAKED BASICS PALETTE-  I have wanted a NAKED palette since they came out!  But  I knew I would never use all of it up.  The basics palette gives you amazing nude colors that you will always use.
3. BENEFITS ROLLER LASH MASCARA – I heard about this mascara while watching some youtube reviews. I got it as soon as I could and I love the length it gives my lashes!  The best part is the plastic brush.  It coats evenly and doesn’t clump.
4. BENEFITS DANDELION BLUSH – This blush works for so many skin tones.  I really need something more coral based for my skin. However this one is so pretty pretty pink that I had to get it.  Side note:  it smells amazing.
5. CLINIQUES MATTE LIP STICK –  I have worn this lip stick since I went to my prom 10 years ago.  I love the matte look it gives and it doesn’t dry out your lips. I rarely have to do touch ups throughout the day.
6. LANCOME ULTRA TEINT FOUNDATION- This foundation is one of the lightest that I tried.  It gives amazing coverage and is able to be layered to cover spots and imperfections.  It is also spf 15 and fragrance free.  Perfect for my sensitive skin.
7. BENEFITS HOOLA BRONZER – Most everyone has heard of this bronzer. I love the color and it works on my pale skin well.  it also comes with a super cute brush.

5 Things I Am Thankful For

Things i am thankful for
November has arrived!  Thanksgiving is fast approaching and we are once again reminded what we are thankful for.  Here are the 5 things I am most thankful for this year.
Family – I am especially thankful for my family this year as I have needed them a lot. My parents and sister mean the world to me and I don’t know what I would do without them.   Also included are my dogs.  They always know how to make me smile.
Faith – This past year I have reaffirmed my faith. After many years of not having a home church to worship in and a church family to worship with, I have found my place at a Lutheran Church (the same one I was baptized in!)
Home – I was lucky enough to purchase my home this year as well.  It was a long hard road both financially and emotionally.   Heavy on the emotions.   But I came through it.  I am so blessed to have a roof over my head that I can call my own.
Computer – The computer that I typed this very post on, I am very thankful for it.  This computer keeps me connected to my family both near and far. It also offers a wonderful connection to the amazing pen pals that I send letters to the old school way.
Glasses – Not only do they help me see our amazing world, they allow me to help other people in need see.  They are also providing me with an income and a place in this world.

The Day I Started Living

It was at the place in the above photo at 25 years of age, I started living.  For 25 years I merely exsisted on this planet.  I have been blessed with an amazing family, who are always willing to help and guide me any way they can.  However, there are somethings that you have to do for yourself.  Finding who you are and what you want, is one of those things.  In this amazing, vibrant, once-in-a-lifetime moment everything clicked for me.
